Exclusive: Ederson has ‘strong possibility’ of completing Man City transfer

Man City star Ederson has a “strong possibility” of joining a Saudi Pro League club in the upcoming summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The 31-year-old was a target for clubs in the Middle East last summer but remained at the Etihad Stadium into the 2024-25 campaign.

However, Ederson will be out of contract in June 2026 – meaning the off-season could be the last chance to cash in.

His contract situation gives Saudi clubs the opportunity to complete a marquee signing at a cheaper-than-usual price.

He has made 28 appearances across all competitions this season with Man City struggling for form.

The Brazil international has conceded 43 goals in this outings and has kept seven clean sheets.

Stefan Ortega has stepped in for Ederson on a regular basis in recent seasons for cup competitions and during injury.

Ederson has won six Premier League titles and the Champions League since joining from Benfica in 2017.

He signed his last City contract extension in 2021.

Man City in advanced talks to sign teenage shot-stopper

Football Insider revealed on Monday (3 March) that Man City are in advanced talks to sign Hibernian goalkeeper Ben Vickery.

City scouts have been making regular checks on the rising star, 16, and have pushed to bring Vickery south of the border.

The Premier League giants are continuing their policy of signing the best young talent around as they pursue the teenager.

Pep Guardiola‘s side sit fourth in the top flight this term and have already been eliminated from the Champions League.
