Exclusive: British clubs eye Emmanuel Addai, Eintracht Frankfurt and Napoli keen

Several British clubs are eyeing Qarabag FK attacker Emmanuel Addai on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.

Eintracht Frankfurt saw an offer for Addai rejected in the winter transfer window and remains interested, while Napoli are also keeping tabs on him.

The 24-year-old winger is out of contract with Champions League surprise package Qarabag this summer and could sign a pre-contract deal to join interested clubs as a free agent.

Addai recently faced Premier League side Newcastle in Qarabag’s Champions League playoffs, with the winger coming off the bench in both legs.

How good is Emmanuel Addai?

Addai’s reputation has grown massively in recent months.

The skilful winger was key to Qarabag reaching the Champions League playoffs and impressed against the likes of Chelsea, Napoli and Ajax.

This form has continued domestically, with Addai netting twice in midweek to help Qarabag reach the semi-finals of the Azerbaijani Cup.

The winger tipped to be called up to Ghana’s squad for this summer’s World Cup finals this month, and could play against England in the group stages.

Addai also scored in the Champions League this season, netting past Copenhagen in a 2-0 victory during the competition’s league phase.

What are Addai’s stats this season?

Looking solely at his Champions League stats this season, Addai has plenty of impressive attributes.

According to Sofascore on 5 March, the winger is averaging 1.1 shots and 0.5 shots on target per game.

On top of this, he boasts a goal conversion ratio of nine per cent, has created one chance and has a passing accuracy of 78 per cent.

Defensively, he also helps out, making 2.2 recoveries and 0.5 tackles a match.

Therefore, it is clear that Addai has plenty of potential, and it is of little surprise that plenty of clubs across Europe are after his signature.

However, it remains to be seen if he is able to reach this as he looks to take the next step in his career.
