Everton have would consider selling Mason Holgate for the right price as they rule out a loan move this summer, Football Insider understands.

Holgate is down the pecking order at Goodison Park and with Everton still looking to bring in new defensive recruits this summer they could be open to selling the defender.

A number of Championship clubs are understood to have made loan enquiries for Holgate, but a well-placed source at Everton has told Football Insider the Toffees would only consider selling Holgate rather than sending him out temporarily.

Holgate spent the second half of last season on loan at West Brom, making 23 appearances as the Baggies reached the Championship play-off semi-finals.

New West Brom boss Slaven Bilic is keen to bring Holgate back to the Hawthorns before the close of the transfer window and play him at centre-back rather than right-back.

However, the Toffees are set to reject any loan offers that come in for the 22-year-old, with a permanent exit the only way he will be allowed to leave Goodison Park this summer.
