Exclusive: Feyenoord in talks with West Ham over winger Luis Guilherme

Feyenoord are in talks with West Ham over a deal for Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme, sources have told Football Insider.

Porto are also interested in the former Palmeiras winger, following a difficult season since his £25.5million move in the summer [Sky Sports].

The Brazilian was signed by former technical director, Tim Steidten, and was the first transfer of Julen Lopetegui’s short-lived reign at West Ham.

Guilherme has only made five appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers, all from the bench.

The Brazilian’s last appearance for the Irons came against Crystal Palace (8 January), in an eight-minute cameo off the bench.

Feyenoord are interested in Guilherme, having seen Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez leave the club to join AC Milan.

Porto also in for West Ham youngster Luis Guilherme

Following the signing of Evan Ferguson on-loan from Brighton, Guilherme is one of the odd men out at the London Stadium.

The Brazilian winger came through the youth ranks of Palmeiras alongside Chelsea’s Estevao Willian, Man City’s new signing Vitor Reis, and Real Madrid’s Endrick.

The Brazil U20 international was expected to develop into a key figure at the London Stadium, but has struggled with the Premier League’s style of play, leading to new boss Graham Potter playing Carlos Soler out-of-position on the left.

West Ham’s disappointing summer business is not limited to the Brazilian. £120million was spent on the likes of Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville and Max Kilman, all of whom have failed to live up to expectations.

That business has led to Steidten being put under review by the West Ham hierarchy and is expected to leave the club, with Kyle Macaulay having joined from Chelsea.

In other news, there is an update on West Ham’s deal for French wonderkid, Eli Junior Kroupi.
