Exclusive: Frankfurt plotting to sign Tottenham star to replace Marmoush
Eintracht Frankfurt are plotting a move for Tottenham loanee Timo Werner, sources have told Football Insider.
The Germany international, 28, is on the radar of the Bundesliga club as they assess potential replacements for Omar Marmoush.
As first revealed by Football Insider on Monday (6 January), the Egyptian goal machine, 25, is in talks to join Man City this month after a sensational opening half of the campaign.
Frankfurt are assessing the market for forward options and RB Leipzig-owned Werner is on their shortlist.
Werner is on loan at Tottenham for a second time after first joining the Londoners last January.
But he is not a first choice at Spurs and has struggled to get in the team ahead of the likes of Heung-min Son, Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson or Dejan Kulusevski.
The 28-year-old has hit just one goal and notched three assists in 25 appearances across all competitions this term.

Nine of those outings have come as part of the starting lineup with Spurs now active across four competitions as their FA Cup campaign gets underway against Tamworth on Sunday (12 January).
Werner boasts a more prolific record in Germany, scoring 102 goals in 257 games in the Bundesliga across spells with Leipzig and Stuttgart.

He has also hit 24 in 57 caps for the Germany senior side and has been to two major tournaments.
Meanwhile, Man City target Marmoush in second in the Bundesliga scoring charts this season after hitting 13 goals in 15 league games.
