Exclusive: Hull City reject Derby County offer for Cody Drameh

Hull City have rejected an offer from Derby County for the loan signing of right-back Cody Drameh, sources have told Football Insider.

The right-back only joined the Tigers last summer, when Drameh signed on a free transfer after leaving Leeds United following the expiration of his contract.

The 23-year-old had signed a three-year contract at the MKM Stadium until the end of the 2026/27, with the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.

Despite that there is a chance that Drameh could leave Hull this summer after just a single year with the club.

John Eustace eyeing Cody Drameh reunion

Football Insider has been told that Derby have seen a loan bid for Drameh rejected, with his current club only willing to accept permanent moves for the right-back.

If he was to complete a move to Pride Park, the Hull City star would find himself playing under a familiar face.

With John Eustace having left Blackburn Rovers to take charge at Derby County back in February, the Rams boss is understood to be a big fan of the player.

Eustace previously worked with Drameh when he was in charge of Birmingham City, where he signed the right-back on loan from Leeds.

Both of these clubs only avoided relegation from the Championship on the final day of this season, and will be looking to improve on that in the coming campaign.

Although Hull only appointed Ruben Selles as their new manager back in December, they have already sacked the former Reading boss.

That is in spite of the face that he managed to keep them up, and has left the Tigers searching for a new manager.

There have been reports that Emre Belozoglu is among the contenders to now take charge at Hull, who are run by Turkish media mogul Acun Ilicali.

Derby County facing competition for Hull City star

Derby are currently not the only team taking an interest in a deal to sign Drameh ahead of the summer transfer window.

It is understood that French duo Toulouse and Stade de Reims are also taking an interest in the 23-year-old, the pair currently 12th and 14th in the top-flight standings in France respectively.

Since joining Hull, Drameh has so far made a total of 29 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring one goal and providing one assist in that time.
