Exclusive: Jhon Duran agrees ‘£90,000-a-week’ West Ham deal
Jhon Duran has agreed personal terms with West Ham ahead of his move away from Aston Villa, sources have told Football Insider.
The 20-year-old is set to leave Villa Park for east London with the two clubs in advanced talks over a £35million deal.
Duran has now agreed to a £90,000-a-week deal with West Ham and all parties expect the deal to get done imminently.
The Colombian forward is West Ham’s number one target to bolster their attacking line after they sealed the signings of centre-back Max Kilman and winger Luis Guilherme.
West Ham have been splashing the cash so far this summer as new manager Julen Lopetegui seeks to build a squad in his image after the departure of David Moyes.
Football Insider revealed that West Ham are also interested in Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville but won’t pay over the odds for the Championship Player of the Season.
Jhon Duran close to joining West Ham from Aston Villa
With Ollie Watkins firmly ahead of him in the pecking order at Villa, a move to West Ham will give the 20-year-old first-team football and the club will be hoping he could be the man to break their striker curse.
The club have signed 55 forwards since David Gold and David Sullivan took over in 2010 with most of them failing to live up to their price tags.

Michail Antonio and Danny Ings are currently on the books at the London Stadium but the club are yet to secure a long-term successor to big-money flop Gianluca Scamacca.
Only 34-year-old Antonio can hold his head high among a turgid bunch but injuries are starting to catch up with the Jamaica international.
Duran may only have scored eight goals for Villa but with sound movement and the ability to score from any angle, Duran averages a goal every 117.6 minutes.
In other news, West Ham are linked with a move for another striker.
