Exclusive: Joe Taylor undergoing Wigan Athletic medical today
Huddersfield Town striker Joe Taylor is having a medical at Wigan Athletic today ahead of a loan move, sources have told Football Insider.
Taylor will put pen to paper on a loan deal until the end of the season after completing medical checks at the Brick Community Stadium.
Huddersfield signed Taylor on a four-year deal from Luton in January 2025, with his deal set to run until 2029, but are prepared to let him leave on a short-term loan.
The 23-year-old has fallen out of favour under Lee Grant and has played just three minutes of football across their last seven league games.

Joe Taylor closes in on Wigan Athletic loan deal
Taylor has featured 27 times for the Terriers so far this season and remains a regular part of the first-team squad, although he has started just 11 games.
In that time, he has scored seven goals and provided two assists, but the striker has been keen to play more regular football in League One.
As a result, Huddersfield are now prepared to sanction his departure to their divisional rivals, with just nine points separating the two clubs as things stand.
It is a deal which will be seen as a huge coup for Wigan if they can get the best out of Taylor, who has been highly coveted by a number of clubs including in the Championship.
Ryan Lowe under pressure as sack race hots up
Ryan Lowe has come under pressure at Wigan and is emerging among the favourites to be sacked next as a result of his side’s recent poor form.
The last League One manager to be relieved of his duties was Darren Moore, as his spell at Port Vale came to an end last month with the club sat bottom of the table.

Wigan have won just one of their last six league games, although they have progressed into the fourth round of the FA Cup after beating Championship Preston.
The Latics’ struggles have largely been caused by a lack of attacking firepower, as they have failed to score more than once in eight of their last ten.
Lowe will hope Taylor can hit the ground running following his imminent arrival and potentially help to turn their frustrating season around.
