Exclusive: Leeds and Crystal Palace make approaches for Patrick Agyemang

Crystal Palace and Leeds United have made approaches for Derby County striker Patrick Agyemang, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League duo are keen on the Championship forward going into the final fortnight of the window.

Crystal Palace may make the first move for Agyemang if Jean-Philippe Mateta leaves in the next few days, with Derby valuing the 25-year-old at around the £20million mark.

Agyemang only joined Derby last summer from MLS side Charlotte FC, but his performances in the Championship have already caught the attention of Premier League clubs.

Leeds and Crystal Palace search for attacking reinforcements

The American international has netted seven goals and contributed three assists so far in his first season in the Championship.

Both Crystal Palace and Leeds could do with extra firepower in their push to have a positive second half to their Premier League campaigns.

Crystal Palace are looking for replacements for Mateta and fellow striker Eddie Nketiah, with their futures uncertain at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles do not want to let Mateta leave in January, with Oliver Glasner preferring to bolster his squad instead of reduce it further.

Meanwhile, Leeds are prioritising a forward in January, and Joel Piroe has been linked with an exit in order to get more playing time.

Derby wonderkid could break record

Derby could have an exciting young talent on their books after it emerged that Blake Henry has already scored 45 goals this season.

Henry could break a Derby record if he is selected to participate in the first team in the near future, with the 14-year-old having already received a call-up to England’s under-15’s squad.

The teenager is catching the attention of many clubs for his excellent goalscoring record this season, and he could have a big future ahead of him at Pride Park.
