'Leeds'll be in for him' - Exclusive: Pundit lauds 'Bielsa-type' 22yo after big development
Darren Bent has tipped Leeds United to chase the signing of Nottingham Forest full-back Matty Cash during the summer transfer window.
The former Aston Villa and England hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists the 22-year-old is a “Bielsa-type player” after watching him impress at the City Ground.
As revealed by Football Insider, Forest may be forced to sell Cash and other first-team stars if they are not promoted to the Premier League this summer.
It is understood that the financial chaos caused by the Coronavirus pandemic is set to have a significant impact at the Midlands outfit, especially if they are in the Championship next season.
Bent believes there will be plenty of takers for the right-back this summer and says that Leeds will definitely be among the chasing pack.
Bent told Football Insider: “He’s got a great work rate, he’s got good quality and he does seem like a Bielsa-type player with the way that he plays.

“He’s certainly an option for them, I’m sure if Leeds go up they’ll be in for him, there’s going to be other Premier League clubs who will there to try and steal him as well.
“You’ve got to look at the teams from the Premier League, look at the likes of, to put this out there, Aston Villa, they might go: ‘We like him.’ Whatever the outcome at the end of the season, Matty Cash is going to have some takers.”
Cash, a graduate of Forest’s youth system, has 123 Championship appearances under his belt to date.
He has scored three goals and set up four in his 36 league outings this season.
