Exclusive: Man United have one signing all but done and other deals on the way
Man United are preparing to sign more players following their deal with Wolves star Matheus Cunha as money has been set aside for transfers.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about their transfer plans.
The 25-year-old’s £62.5million release clause will be paid in three installments, allowing for spending elsewhere, although other first-team players may have to be sold.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed that Man United’s deal to sign Cunha is “very advanced” and will be announced “soon”.
The Brazil forward will be played as one of the two number tens at Old Trafford, while a number of other positions are being targeted for improvement.
This comes as they are eyeing a “huge” rebuild of their first-team squad after what has been a disastrous season for Ruben Amorim‘s side.

Ruben Amorim eyes squad overhaul at Man United
Having missed out on Champions League football after defeat in the Europa League final, Amorim must accept some first-team players will be sold to raise funds.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 22 May that Rasmus Hojlund is unlikely to stay at United next season as his sale will boost their income.
O’Rourke explained that money has been set aside for incoming transfers and will be supplemented by any sales that take place this summer.
“The Matheus Cunha deal is on,” he told Football Insider.
“They’ve got that wrapped up and they’re ready to announce it soon.
“The £62.5million release clause will be paid over a number of installments, so it’s not like they’re paying that money up front, it will be split into three installments.
“Obviously, United have the money to do that and they’ve set aside money for other potential incomers as well.
“A huge rebuild is needed and Amorim, I’m sure, will have to accept that some players will have to be sacrificed as well just to help with transfer funds.
“Missing out on the Champions League has come as a huge blow for the club.
“They were banking on using that money to help reinvest in the squad.”

Antoine Semenyo and Bryan Mbeumo on Amorim’s shortlist
As United continue to eye potential improvements for their squad, two players who have been identified are Antoine Semenyo and Bryan Mbeumo.
Brown told Football Insider on 22 May that United will hold talks with Bournemouth and Brentford before deciding which forward they want to sign.
They do not plan to sell both Semenyo and Mbeumo, and will prioritise one or the other to play alongside Cunha in Amorim’s new-look attacking line.
Brown told Football Insider earlier this month that United are preparing a move for Semenyo and scouts have been been impressed by his performances.
