Exclusive: Man United star Jadon Sancho arrives at Borussia Dortmund after agreeing loan-to-buy deal

Man United forward Jadon Sancho is heading to Borussia Dortmund’s training ground early on Thursday afternoon to sign after agreeing the terms of a loan-to-buy deal, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the 23-year-old will complete the move to his former side in the next hours and then link up with the Dortmund squad at their training camp in Marbella at the start of next week.

Sources have told Football Insider new details about the deal, which is set to be an initial loan for the rest of the season with a buy option set at around £25million.

Sources also revealed that Dortmund will pay less than half of Sancho’s reported £250,000-a-week wages during his time in Germany.

Sancho has been training away from the Man United first team and has not made an appearance for the club since August following a bust-up with manager Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman claimed in a press conference that Sancho was not applying himself to an appropriate standard in training.

This led to Sancho refuting this on social media, and failure to apologise to the manager has seen him axed from the squad altogether.

The Englishman’s reported £73million move from Dortmund to Man United in the summer of 2021 has been far from a success.

He has managed just 12 goals and six assists across 82 outings in all competitions for the Red Devils – a huge decline from his blistering form in the Bundesliga.

Man United sit eighth in the Premier League table following their 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday (30 December) and next face Wigan Athletic away in the FA Cup on Monday night (8 January).
