Exclusive: Man United’s plan to hold Max Allegri talks revealed
Man United are interested in speaking to ex-Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri if Erik ten Hag is sacked, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources say the Red Devils are likely to swoop for an out-of-work manager if club chiefs feel a change is needed at Old Trafford.
Allegri, 57, is a six-time Scudetto winner who ended his second spell at Juventus in May.
It is believed former England boss Gareth Southgate is also on the radar of United due to his close links with members of the INEOS hierarchy.
Southgate left the England role in July after reaching two major finals with the Three Lions since taking over in 2016.
Thomas Tuchel will also be part of the shortlist if Ten Hag departs, with his Premier League experience seen as a major positive at Old Trafford.
Allegri, Southgate and Tuchel among frontrunners for Man United job
The German left Bayern Munich earlier this year after the Bavarians failed to win the Bundesliga title for the first time since 2012.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (30 September) that Ten Hag is not in immediate danger despite the 3-0 home loss against Tottenham.
United face Porto and Aston Villa this week and it is believed two defeats will give INEOS a decision to make over the international break.

The Red Devils sit 12th in the Premier League table with seven points from the first six games of the new campaign.
Ten Hag signed a one-year contract extension in the summer after lifting the FA Cup at the end of the 2023-24 campaign but is already under pressure early in the new season.
