Frank McAvennie has tipped Alfredo Morelos to leave Rangers this summer with Everton leading the list of potential suitors for the Colombian.
The former Celtic and West Ham striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, made it clear that the 23-year-old striker is not worth as much as his Old Firm counterpart Odsonne Edouard.
The Gers valued their centre-forward at around £20million earlier in the year but Football Insider understands the impact of the coronavirus means they may now accept an offer of around £12m.
Football Insider revealed that Everton are firmly interested on Morelos and are planning to make a move when the transfer window opens.
McAvennie backed the Colombia international to succeed in the Premier League but think his temperament may be an issue.
“I think he will move,” he told Football Insider. “But Stevie Gerrard and Gary Mac are good pros and they will not let him go for the sake of it.
“He is a very good player and they would want him in the team.
“Morelos is a great player but his temperament is what lets him down. I do not think he would get away with that in England.
“”He is not worth as much as Edouard though. They will make money on him but they will not get £40million for him.
“I think he would do well at somebody like Everton but his temperament is the issue.”
Celtic have slapped a £40million price tag on Edouard this summer as they try to ward off potential suitors as they prepare to go for 10-in-a-row.
Morelos scored 29 goals in 46 appearances for Steven Gerrard’s side last season, while Edouard scored 27 in 45 for the Hoops.
