Exclusive: Newcastle 23-year-old agrees St James’ Park loan exit, Eddie Howe gives his blessing
Newcastle attacker Joe White has agreed a loan move to Bradford City, sources have told Football Insider.
White has spent the first half of the season on loan at Leyton Orient, but Newcastle have cancelled the loan early to allow him to make the move to Bradford.
The 23-year-old is well down the pecking order at Newcastle and Eddie Howe is happy to send White out on loan for the second half of the season.
He made just six appearances across all competitions for Orient before being recalled to Tyneside last week, and now looks set for a quick return to League One with the Bantams.

White to get another chance in League One despite Orient struggles
Carlisle-born White joined Newcastle’s academy in 2016, and worked his way through their youth set-up before going out on several loan spells to Hartlepool United, Exeter City and Crewe Alexandra.
He returned from a short spell at Crewe in January 2024 to play a part in Newcastle’s first team under Howe for the first time, making four Premier League appearances before the end of the season.
White’s most fruitful loan came last term as he registered six goals and two assists in 34 League Two appearances for MK Dons.
The attacking midfielder made the step up to the third tier to join Orient last summer, but things did not go as he or the Magpies would have planned, and so he was recalled last week to join promotion-chasing Bradford.
Joe Willock could also leave Newcastle as Leeds eye January move
White has not had an impact on Newcastle’s first team this season, and one player who has also struggled to make his mark under Howe recently is fellow midfielder Willock.
The 26-year-old has been on the fringes of Newcastle‘s starting eleven for a while now, with 17 appearances and just two league starts so far this term.

Former scout Mick Brown has told Football Insider that Leeds are eyeing a move for Willock this month as they aim to bolster Daniel Farke’s depth and survive in the Premier League.
Newcastle fans ripped into Willock for his performance against Bournemouth in their FA Cup clash on Saturday, and so he could well be joining White in leaving St James’ Park soon.
