Exclusive: Newcastle told £13m offer will be accepted
Newcastle could sign Hungarian wonderkid Alex Toth for a bargain price for a player with an immense amount of promise.
The Magpies are on the hunt for a new midfielder, especially with Joe Willock open to a move to Crystal Palace in January.
Sources told Football Insider that a reunion between Newcastle and Elliot Anderson seems unlikely, in what is a hammer blow for Eddie Howe in one of his transfer pursuits.
Yet, amid the disappointment, an opportunity to land 20-year-old Ferencvaros star Toth could be too good to pass up on in the upcoming transfer windows.

Newcastle to go toe-to-toe with Bundesliga clubs for Toth’s signature
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the Toon will not have a clear route to signing the Hungary international, due to the array of expected bidding suitors.
Sources told Football Insider that Liverpool have joined Newcastle in the race to land Toth, with comparisons drawn between him and compatriot Dominik Szoboszlai in their play styles.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast over the clubs intrigued by the number 64, I explained: “There is a lot of interest from Bundesliga clubs in the 20-year-old as well.
“It could be a good option for a number of clubs because of his contract situation as he’s under contract until 2027.
“So if no new deal is agreed, some of those interested parties could test Ferencvaros’ resolve to keep hold of him in the summer and he might be available for a sort of cut price fee of around £13-15million.
“I think he’s a player that Newcastle will continue to monitor. I don’t think it’s a priority for them right now.”
Man City remain firm on James Trafford staying put in January amid Newcastle’s goalkeeper woes
Howe will also be eager to strengthen between the sticks in the January transfer window with both Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale being far from convincing in goal of late.

Sources told Football Insider that Man City will not let James Trafford leave on loan in January, despite a lack of game time.
The former Burnley shot stopper came very close to heading to Tyneside last summer and is perhaps regretting his decision to return to Manchester due to the late acquisition of Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Trafford has made six starts in all competitions this season, but will struggle to force a move away from the Etihad in the next transfer window.
