Exclusive: Peterborough United in advanced talks to sign Kyrell Lisbie

Peterborough United are in advanced talks to sign Braintree forward Kyrell Lisbie, sources have told Football Insider.

The 21-year-old, who is the son of former Charlton and Ipswich forward Kevin Lisbie, has scored 11 goals and provided two assists this season for the National League side.

Lisbie came through the West Ham and Watford academies before joining fifth-tier Braintree last summer.

Peterborough and Braintree are in advanced discussions as they look to agree a deal in the coming weeks.

Peterborough ready to sign non-league winger

Lisbie primarily plays on the left wing but can also line up as a centre-forward.

He left West Ham for Watford in 2021 and has since turned out for Woodford Town, Welling United, Cray Valley PM and Braintree in non-league football.

The forward lined up alongside twin brother Kyreece at Braintree earlier this season during his brief loan-spell away from League Two side Colchester United.

Father Kevin hit 112 goals in a career which saw him play in England’s top four divisions.

Lisbie could arrive as part of Peterborough’s formula to replace star man Kwame Poku, who is out of contract next month.

Football Insider revealed last month (17 April) that Birmingham have opened talks to sign the Posh winger.
