Exclusive: Player to undergo Leeds medical on Monday as deal agreed in principle
EXCLUSIVE By Pete O’Rourke
Polish midfielder Mateusz Bogusz is set for a medical at Leeds next Monday before finalising his move to Elland Road, Football Insider understands.
Bogusz’s club Ruch Chorzow revealed earlier this week they had received a formal offer from Leeds for the highly-rated Poland Under-19 international.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the move is agreed in principle and that Bogusz will sign a three-year deal at Leeds once he completes his medical at the start of next week.
The 17-year-old has impressed at Ruch Chorzow since breaking into the team as a 16-year-old last year.
Bogusz, who can play as a number 10 or a deeper lying midfielder, has scored six goals in 34 appearances for Ruch Chorzow and his performances have brought him to the attention of a number of clubs across Europe.
However, Championship promotion hopefuls Leeds have moved quickly to agree a deal with Ruch Chorzow for Bogusz with the Polish club forced to cash-in on him as he was due to be out of contract in the summer.
Bogusz will initially link up with Leeds’ Under-23 side when he moves to England, but Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa has shown already this season he is not afraid to promote young players from the youth set-up into the first-team at Elland Road.
In other Leeds United transfer news, it can be revealed a huge bid has just been tabled for an Elland Road first-team star.
