Exclusive: PSV submitting Hwang Hee-chan offer as Wolves transfer plan revealed
PSV Eindhoven are readying a permanent offer for Wolves striker Hwang Hee-chan, sources have told Football Insider.
The Dutch Eredivisie big gun are working on a deal to lure the forward, 29, in this month’s window.
PSV are expected to table a bid worth between £5-10million for Hwang, who has made 20 appearances for his club this season.
Wolves are willing to accept an offer for the 75-time South Korea international as they prepare for relegation to the Championship.
Hwang Hee-Chan continues to be linked away from Wolves
Hwang has been consistently linked away from Wolves in recent years.
In the summer, Crystal Palace were rumoured to be keen on Hwang. However, the transfer never came to light.
Previously, Marseille had also seen a bid rejected for Hwang in the build-up to the 2024-25 campaign on the back of a sensational season under Gary O’Neil.

Now, PSV look to be the next side to test Wolves’ resolve, with the attacker struggling for consistent form at Molineux.
However, it remains to be seen if the Dutch side are able to bring in the Wolves attacker by the end of the transfer window.
How good has Hwang been this season?
For Wolves, their aim between now and the end of the season will be to ensure that they beat Derby’s record low point record in the Premier League, with relegation inevitable.
Therefore, the Old Gold side cannot afford to lose too many players, or they may struggle to get the 12-point mark.
Wolves have already departed with Marshall Munetsi, who has joined Paris FC on loan until the end of the season. While Jorgen Strand Larsen is consistently linked away from Molineux.
Nevertheless, Hwang’s potential departure may not have a significant impact on Wolves.
According to Fotmob on 17 January, Hwang has consistently struggled to make an impact at Wolves this season. As it stands, he is only averaging 0.20 goals, an xG of 0.21 and 1.42 shots per game.
| Hwang Hee-Chan’s Premier League stats this season | Per 90 minutes |
| Goals | 0.20 |
| xG | 0.21 |
| Shots | 1.42 |
| Shots on target | 0.26 |
| Passing success rate | 75.8% |
| Dribble success rate | 36.4% |
While the South Korea international has proved to be solid on the ball, completing 75.8 per cent of his passes and 36.4 per cent of his attempted dribbles, his attacking output will be what he is judged on by many.
Therefore, if Hwang is to leave Wolves this month, he is unlikely that he will be missed by many of the Molineux faithful.
