Exclusive: Rangers set for extra £4m+ after confirmed news
Rangers are set to cut their wage bill by more than £4million after confirming several first-team players will leave the club this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Scottish giants are looking to rebuild their squad in the upcoming transfer window following their trophyless season.
Rangers are planning to make six new signings as they look to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
Their overhaul is already underway after it was announced Ianis Hagi, Leon Balogun and Tom Lawrence will all leave Ibrox when their contracts expire this summer.
Meanwhile, loanees Vaclav Cerny, Neraysho Kasanwirjo and Rafael Fernandes will return to their parent clubs.
In a statement, Rangers said: “Everyone at Ibrox and the Rangers Training Centre thanks the departing players sincerely for their contributions to the football club and wish them all the very best for their future careers.”
It has also been confirmed Barry Ferguson has left Ibrox after he took on the managerial role on an interim basis following Philippe Clement’s sacking in February.

Rangers set for big savings after multiple exits
Cerny is the highest-earning star leaving Rangers this summer, with the winger understood to be on around £27,000 a week.
The 27-year-old has registered 18 goals and nine assists in 52 appearances on loan from Wolfsburg this season.
Lawrence, who has made 69 appearances over the past three years, earns around £22,000 per week.
Hagi is the longest-serving player leaving this summer after spending the past five years at Ibrox, where he registered 20 goals and 28 assists in 130 outings.
The 26-year-old’s salary is worth around £21,000 a week.
Balogun, who earns £8,000 weekly, has featured 114 times for Rangers during two stints with the club over the past five years.
Kasanwirjo and Fernandes have failed to have much of an impact during their loan spells at Ibrox from Feyenoord and Lille, with the pair earning between £4,000-6,000 a week.
Sources have told Football Insider Rangers will save around £4.5million once the six players leave the club this summer.

Rangers update on triggering Danny Rohl’s release clause
Football Insider revealed on 19 May Danny Rohl’s release clause is likely to prohibit a Rangers move for the highly-rated Sheffield Wednesday manager.
The 36-year-old has been linked with the Gers, but he is in demand following his solid spell at Hillsborough.

It is believed Rohl has a hefty, multi-million-pound release clause in his contract, which is set to run until June 2027.
Rangers face having to look elsewhere in their search for the first manager of the 49ers Enterprises era, with the US consortium close to agreeing a takeover at Ibrox.
