Exclusive: Rangers told £4m Tawanda Maswanhise offer could be accepted
Rangers will have to splash out upwards of £4million if they want to sign in-form Motherwell star Tawanda Maswanhise this month.
Rangers are in fine form right now under Danny Rohl as they look to challenge Hearts and Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title at the business end of the season.
Rohl‘s side sit third in the table after winning seven matches in a row, with Motherwell a surprising top-half contender as they sit seven points behind them in fourth place.
Maswanhise has scored 10 goals in 19 Premiership appearances from the right wing so far this term to be the joint-second highest scorer in the division so far.
Recent reports have linked Rangers with a move for the 23-year-old, and as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, they will have to spend around £4m if they want to sign him in the January window.

Motherwell set Maswanhise price tag after stellar Premiership form
Motherwell boss Jens Berthel-Askou has insisted that there are no plans for Maswanhise to leave Fir Park this month, and that they are “under no pressure” to sell him to any interested sides.
Celtic have also reportedly registered their interest in the Zimbabwe international alongside Rangers though, and Motherwell are set to demand around £4m for his signature from either club as they aim to keep him until the summer.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Maswanhise is a player who’s had a real impact in the Scottish Premiership this season, with 15 goals in 27 appearances.
“He’s been one of the standout players in the league, so it’s no surprise that the likes of Rangers and Celtic have been linked with Maswanhise.
“He’s come from nowhere at Motherwell, really taking the league by storm and enhancing his reputation.
“They’ll be looking for £4million plus, probably, for the player. In the current market, that would be the going rate for the winger, who can also play up front.”
Rangers have no plans to let Oliver Antman leave this month
Motherwell’s valuation of Maswanhise could put the Gers off a move for his signature, and so it comes as little surprise to learn that they are set to keep hold of fellow winger Antman.
The Finland international is yet to score for the club in 20 appearances since a summer move from Go Ahead Eagles, and recently returned from a six-week injury layoff.

Previous reports had claimed that he could leave this month, but Football Insider recently revealed that Rohl wants to keep Antman as an option in attack for the remainder of the campaign.
It seems unlikely that the Gers will move for Maswanhise before 2 February, as a result, but a summer move could be on the cards if he keeps up his outstanding form over the coming months.
