Exclusive: Everton ace Reece Welch’s loan could be terminated
Everton defender Reece Welch is attracting interest from multiple clubs as his loan at Belgian club KMSK Deinze could be terminated, sources have told Football Insider.
Welch, 21, joined Deinze on a season-long loan earlier this summer but in a new twist he could be allowed to leave the club if the cash-strapped side go out of business.
The news has alerted several sides at home and abroad to Welch’s potential availability with the centre-back impressing in his appearances to date in Belgium.
Peterborough and Bradford were both interested in Welch in the summer transfer window prior to his move.
However, they could not agree a deal with Everton and it remains to be seen if they rekindle their interest in the defender.
Welch featured for the Everton first-team in pre-season before heading out on loan in September.
He has played twice for the Merseysiders’ senior side, with both outings coming in cup competition.

The defender’s only other senior experience came on loan at Forest Green in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign.
Welch made 23 appearances for Forest Green last term before returning to Everton in January.

He is under contract at Goodison Park until June 2026.
James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite, James O’Brien and Michael Keane are all above Welch in the pecking order at Goodison.
