Exclusive: Roma plan to accept Tammy Abraham offer amid Aston Villa interest
Roma plan to accept an offer to let Tammy Abraham leave on a permanent basis amid interest from Aston Villa, sources have told Football Insider.
The striker is currently on loan at Besiktas, who have an obligation to buy him at the end of the season, but the Italian giants are happy to backtrack on that deal, provided that they can still secure a fee for him.
Besiktas are set to buy Abraham for a fee of around £11.2million at the end of the campaign, but that is seen as a big outlay for Aston Villa, given their sustained concerns surrounding their PSR standing.
Football Insider revealed on Monday that Aston Villa are already in discussions over Abraham with both Roma and Besiktas, but there is an acceptance that there is a lot of work to be done if a deal is to take place, given that all three clubs would need to reach an agreement.

Tammy Abraham’s current agreement with Besiktas
Aston Villa are pushing to bring Abraham back to the Premier League this winter, and Besiktas boss Sergen Yalcin has already given the green light for the striker to potentially leave.
The 28-year-old had been plying his trade in Italy since his departure from Chelsea in 2021, before moving to the Turkish Super Lig on a season-long loan deal last summer.
His current deal with Besiktas is set to turn into a permanent switch once certain conditions are met, and that is where the complication arises for Aston Villa, as that means that he is technically still a Roma player.
Once those conditions for a permanent deal are met, then the Premier League side would be solely dealing with Besiktas when it comes to trying to strike a deal.
With that in mind, it is also highly unlikely that Yalcin and Co. won’t at least demand some sort of financial compensation as part of any potential transfer.
However, for now at least, Unai Emery and Co. will be focused on trying to untangle the complex background situation to try and work towards an agreement that suits all parties.
Aston Villa set for fresh financial punishment
Former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA referee Keith Hackett exclusively told Football Insider on Monday that Aston Villa could have another financial punishment coming their way, after tempers flared on the pitch at the end of their FA Cup victory over Tottenham last weekend.
Ollie Watkins celebrated in front of Joao Palhinha immediately after the full-time whistle, and that prompted an angered response from the Spurs man, which eventually erupted to involve several players from both sides.
Hackett revealed that he expects the FA to charge both clubs with failing to control their players, which could potentially result in a fine of up to £250,000.
The former official also suggested that both parties will be keen to pass the fine on to their respective players, should the expected sanction arrive from the FA.
