
Exclusive: Samuel Iling-Junior undergoing Middlesbrough medical as deal agreed
Samuel Iling-Junior is having a medical at Middlesbrough today as he looks to complete a loan move from Aston Villa, sources have told Football Insider.
Villa have recalled the 21-year-old from his season-long loan at Bologna after he struggled for regular minutes with the Serie A side.
The winger made the temporary switch last summer, but he only registered four starts in his 16 appearances for the Italian club.
Iling-Junior is now undergoing a medical ahead of his loan move to Middlesbrough before the transfer window closes on Monday (3 February).
The England Under-21 international is under contract at Villa Park until 2029 after signing a five-year deal following his £11.8million switch from Juventus last summer.

Iling-Junior started his career at Chelsea before making the move to Juventus in 2020.
The London-born winger, who can also play at wing-back, registered two goals and four assists in 45 appearances for the Italian giants.
He is yet to make his debut for Villa, having joined Bologna on loan last August.
The Englishman scored two goals in the first half of this campaign before Unai Emery’s side decided to cut short his time in Italy this week.
Iling-Junior is now closing on a move to Middlesbrough as he undergoes his medical with the club today.

Middlesbrough also signed Josh Dede from Celtic this week after Football Insider revealed on 29 January the right-back was undergoing a medical at the Riverside Stadium ahead of his permanent move to the club.
