Medical begins: Brighton agree deal to sign Southampton sensation Kamari Doyle – Exclusive
Brighton have agreed a deal to sign Southampton starlet Kamari Doyle and he is undergoing a medical on Wednesday (24 January), sources have told Football Insider.
The 18-year-old is putting the finishing touches on a permanent move to the Amex Stadium.
Doyle is highly rated at Southampton and is already an England Under-19 international.
Injuries have limited the midfielder’s involvement so far in the 2023-24 campaign, but he boasts an impressive record at youth level for the Saints.
The 2005-born ace made his senior debut against Brighton last term, coming off the bench for already-relegated Southampton away at the Amex Stadium for a six-minute cameo.
Doyle also played 45 minutes away at Gillingham in the League Cup earlier this season, notching an assist.
The teenager has managed just four appearances for Southampton’s Under-21 side this term but has racked up three goals and two assists in Premier League 2 competition in that time.
He has managed an impressive 29 goals and 22 assists across 68 total appearances for the Saints’ age-group sides.
Doyle, who was reportedly mentored by England international James Ward-Prowse during his time with Southampton, signed his first professional contract at St Mary’s Stadium in 2022.

Brighton have made a name as one of the top destinations for young talent in recent years, with Roberto De Zerbi and previous boss Graham Potter placing trust in youth and seeing success.
The Seagulls, who will play Europa League knockout stage football from March, sit seventh in the Premier League this term.
