Bournemouth are keen to sign Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal ahead of the domestic deadline, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Championship outfit held talks last month over a loan move for the USA centre-back, 22, as they look to strengthen in defence ahead of the new season.
Now a recruitment source has told Football Insider that Bournemouth are pursuing a permanent deal for Carter-Vickers.
Tottenham want between £2.5-3million for Carter-Vickers, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
He has been told to find a new club before the window shuts at 5pm on Friday.
Carter-Vickers has been touted as being involved in a player-plus-cash deal for Tottenham’s main defensive target Joe Rodon.
But Carter-Vickers is unlikely to now be one of them as Swansea are instead in talks to sign Man City defender Joel Latibeaudiere on loan to replace Rodon.
Carter-Vickers is highly regarded by Championship clubs despite making only four senior Spurs appearances.
Tottenham, would prefer to get the versatile defender, who has a contract that runs until the summer of 2021, off their wage bill with a full-time move.
Carter-Vickers joined Luton on loan in January and was a big success after falling out of favour at Stoke City, where he had spent the first half of last season.
He had spent the previous two seasons on loan at Swansea City, Ipswich Town and Sheffield United.
