Tottenham sent scouts to watch Porto striker Samu Omorodion put Man United to the sword in midweek, sources have told Football Insider.

Spurs are keeping close tabs on the 20-year-old, and talent spotters watched him score a brace against United during Thursday’s 3-3 draw in the Europa League.

Omorodion joined Porto from Atletico Madrid for £13million in the summer transfer window, and his valuation has tripled since then.

The Spain Under-21s international has thrived for his new club after making a goal-drenched start to the new campaign, scoring seven goals in six appearances in all competitions.

Omorodion played 36 times for Atletico Madrid last season and scored nine times before making the move to Portugal.

The Spanish forward is under contract with the Portuguese giants until 2029.

Spurs are not the only Premier League giant monitoring Omorodion at the moment, as Chelsea also sent scouts to watch him at Old Trafford.

The striker was on the verge of moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer, but Football Insider revealed that talk broke down after a disagreement over his contract.

Despite that, Chelsea have remained interested in him and are continuing to monitor his progress.

Tottenham signed Dominic Solanke during the summer transfer window for £65million from Bournemouth.

The England international has gone on to score three goals in seven appearances so far this season.
