Tottenham have set aside a "huge" sum of cash to back Ange Postecoglou with more big-money transfers in the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed Spurs are targeting a push back into the top four this season with Champions League qualification the primary target.

The Lilywhites have already wrapped up permanent deals for Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall during the off-season, while Timo Werner has re-joined the club on loan.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (22 July) that Tottenham boss Postecoglou is not considering quitting the club to take the England job.

The Australian has been widely linked with the role following Gareth Southgate's resignation last week.

Ex-Celtic boss Postecoglou remains happy at Spurs after a successful first season in the role, and sources say club chiefs are ready to back him and repay his faith with more signings later this summer.

Tottenham plot big-money transfer assault with top-four finish the target

Chief on the list of targets at Spurs is a new striker, with Football Insider revealing on 18 July that they are in daily contact with Lille star Jonathan David’s camp as they plot a summer bid for the forward.

Football Insider has also revealed (21 July) that Tottenham and Liverpool have both registered their interest in Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze.

Postecoglou's side secured a fifth-place finish in his first season in the Premier League but were knocked out of both domestic cups in the early rounds.

Spurs kick off the 2024-25 campaign against Leicester on 10 August and will play in the league phase of the Europa League starting in September.
