Darren Bent has tipped Tottenham to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard after his asking price was slashed.
The former Spurs and England hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, believes the Parkhead star would be an affordable option to deputise for the 27-year-old superstar.
As revealed by Football Insider, Celtic are willing to accept £25million for the 23-year-old, having demanded £40million from prospective suitors last summer.
Edouard has just 18 months left on his contract in Glasgow, meaning Celtic risk losing him for nothing if they do not cash in either this month or over the summer.
Bent believes the former PSG starlet will be in high demand among Premier League sides but that Spurs could win the race and take him to north London.
Asked where he could see the Frenchman ending up, Bent told Football Insider: “I think there’s always a few teams that could use a striker like him.
“I think West Brom could use him for goals, I know Sheffield United have spent a lot of money on (Rhian) Brewster but they could use a goal, Burnley – there’s loads of teams out there that need goals.
“I mean, he might be a good backup, for £25million, he could be back up for Harry Kane at Tottenham, so that’s a goodun there. There’s going to be a few teams in for him.”
Edouard has netted a total of 72 times in 151 appearances for Celtic, with both Europa League and Champions League experience under his belt.
He has also been a prolific goalscorer for France’s under-21s with 11 goals in just six games.
