Exclusive: Tottenham to sack Thomas Frank and appoint replacement immediately
Tottenham are accelerating plans to sack Thomas Frank and appoint his successor immediately, sources have told Football Insider.
Saturday’s defeat and the reaction from Spurs fans is believed to be a “game-changer” for the club’s hierarchy, with chants of ‘sacked in the morning’ ringing out.
Football Insider previously revealed that Frank could be sacked by Tottenham if his side fail to beat West Ham in the wake of their defeat against Aston Villa.
Following Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham, the boss’ position has become untenable, and they have now won just three of their last 15 games across all competitions.
As a result, work has already begun to identify his successor with both interim and full-time appointments being considered behind the scenes.

Tottenham accelerate plans to sack Thomas Frank
Former Spurs scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last month that Tottenham are reluctant to sack Frank and hope he will lead a long-term project despite a slow start.
However, recent results have forced their hand, with plans now in place to let him go.
Spurs are currently 14th in the Premier League after 22 games, with just seven wins in that time and ten points separating them from the relegation zone.
The majority of fans have also now turned on the manager after just two wins from 11 Premier League games games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Brown told Football Insider on 5 January that Frank has lost the fans’ support and could soon be sacked as a result, with that pressure proving pivotal to the decision.
Who could replace Frank at Tottenham?
Football Insider revealed on 13 January that Tottenham could appoint an interim manager until the end of the season if they part ways with Frank.
Similar to Man United’s decision to appoint Michael Carrick, there is a feeling that better options to become their permanent manager will be available in the summer.

The likes of Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva and Oliver Glasner could all become available when their contracts expire at Bournemouth, Fulham and Crystal Palace respectively.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 16 January that Mauricio Pochettino is open to returning to Tottenham and would not rule out taking the job if it was on offer.
Any move for the 53-year-old would have to wait until after the World Cup, where he will lead the U.S.A on home turf and hopes for a successful tournament.
