Exclusive: Two more clubs join Niclas Fullkrug transfer chase as West Ham exit edges closer
Bundesliga clubs Hamburg and Augsburg have joined the race to sign wantaway West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug, sources have told Football Insider.
West Ham are keen to offload Fullkrug in the January transfer window after his lack of impact on their fortunes so far this season.
The Germany international has scored three times in 29 appearances for the Hammers since a 2024 switch from Borussia Dortmund.
He has only played eight times this term, with five league starts so far as Callum Wilson takes on the mantle of Nuno Espirito Santo‘s first-choice striker.

Fullkrug is wanted in Germany as Bundesliga clubs battle for his signature
Football Insider recently revealed that West Ham plan to accept offers for Fullkrug in January, and a return to his home country looks to be on the cards.
The 32-year-old’s agent, Thorsten Wirth, recently admitted that it “makes sense” for him to depart the London Stadium as his move from Dortmund has “not worked out”.
Werder Bremen are exploring a move for Fullkrug, according to Football Insider’s sources, with Eintracht Frankfurt also believed to be tracking his availability.
Hamburg and Augsburg have now also entered the race to sign the striker, with the clubs sitting 13th and 14th in the Bundesliga respectively.
Lucas Paqueta could also leave West Ham after Liverpool outburst
West Ham have been disappointing so far this season, with Lucas Paqueta‘s angry outburst in their 2-0 loss to Liverpool last time out symptomatic of the mentality issues they face.
The Brazilian midfielder has long been linked with a move away from the East London outfit, and he could soon join Fullkrug in leaving after an exit was previously put on hold due to his spot-fixing charges.

Former West Ham senior scout Mick Brown has revealed to Football Insider that they will be open to offers for Paqueta in January as his red card against Liverpool will have angered boss Nuno.
Football Insider previously revealed that Nuno had no plans to lose Paqueta in the new year despite the increasing speculation, but that is set to change after his latest controversy.
