Exclusive: West Ham set sights on Jose Sa ahead of January
West Ham are closely monitoring Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa ahead of the January window, sources have told Football Insider.
The 32-year-old was dropped from the Wolves team following their defeat to Leeds United in September and has been on the bench ever since.
Sources say West Ham have an interest in the Portugal international going into the mid-season transfer window.
The London club are in the market for a keeper who can challenge current number one Alphonse Areola.
Wolves could be willing to let Sa go in order to bring in a new keeper who could go straight into their starting XI.

Jose Sa has been axed by Wolves
Sa has spent over four years at Molinuex, but the 32-year-old has recently slipped behind Sam Johnstone in the pecking order.
Johnstone has also faced an uncertain future at the club, and Wolves were prepared to bring in a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
Sa started all of Wolves’ Carabao Cup ties this season, but the Old Gold were knocked out of the competition by Chelsea at the last 16 stage.
Wolves are planning to back Rob Edwards in January, with the club currently bottom of the Premier League table and having not kept a clean sheet this season, which could signal the departure of Sa.
West Ham goalkeeper could depart
West Ham could allow Mads Hermansen to leave the club in January, just months into his career in east London.

Hermansen joined West Ham from Leicester as their number one goalkeeper, but a series of poor showings meant Areola quickly regained his place in the team.
West Ham would therefore require another goalkeeper, and the experienced Sa could be an ideal acquisition.
Sa has made 141 Premier League appearances, keeping 33 clean sheets at Wolves.
