Mills Exclusive: ‘With Bielsa not speaking much English that may not be for Leeds’
Danny Mills has suggested the heartache of last season will be on Leeds United players’ minds going into the Cardiff City this Sunday.
The former Leeds and Manchester City right-back, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed it would take a few games for the squad to adapt to difficult circumstances.
On Sunday the Championship leaders recommence their promotion push with a trip down to Play-Off hopefuls Cardiff City who completed a shock comeback against Marcelo Bielsa’s side earlier in the season.
The Whites lead 3-0 with half an hour to play but a second-half capitulation saw the Bluebirds leave Elland Road with a point.
Mills suggested that some players will struggle playing with no fans and social distancing guidelines to be follow in the buildup to the game.
“It is going to be difficult for all of the players,” he told Football Insider.
“The squad on different coaches, the dressing room set up.
“For lots of sides the team talk may be an issue but with Marcelo Bielsa not speaking much English that may not be for Leeds.
“Everything will be different and players will be feeling their way into new routines for the first few games. No crowd, getting the ball back yourself… everything that they are used to has gone.
“It will be about who adapts quickest. Fitness will play a huge part but the best teams should still come out on top though.
“After coming so close last season Leeds will know they have to hit the ground running against Cardiff.”
