Exclusive: Wolves and Bournemouth locked in battle to sign Udinese’s Thomas Kristensen
Wolves, Bournemouth, and Como are plotting moves for Udinese defender Thomas Kristensen in this summer’s transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Wolves have held a long-term interest in Kristensen, having made a £12m bid for the giant centre-back in the January transfer window, and they are ready to rekindle their interest in the Denmark Under-21 international.
Bournemouth and Como are both in the market for centre-back reinforcements, and Kristensen figures on their wanted lists.
The Cherries lost star defender Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, and have subsequently entered the race for the Italy-based 23-year-old.

Bournemouth, Wolves, and Como battle for Kristensen
Kristensen formerly played for Danish outfit AGF, but has spent the last two seasons in Serie A, making a combined total of 50 top-flight appearances for Udinese.
By making 24 league outings last term, notching one goal in the process, the 23-year-old helped Kosta Runjaic’s men finish 12th.
Kristensen also showed his class when he made three appearances in this summer’s Under-21 European Championship as Denmark reached the quarter-finals, where they were beaten by France.

Kristensen could be ready for Premier League move
Football Insider verdict
A move to Como could prove fruitful for the 23-year-old, as it would allow him to remain in Serie A, where he has earned experience and showcased his defensive attributes in Udinese colours.
Thomas Kristensen stats | Serie A 2024/25 |
Appearances | 24 |
Tackles won % | 67.7 |
Duels won % | 55.3 |
Aerial duels won % | 64.2 |
Goals | 1 |
Furthermore, Como finished 10th in the Italian top flight last season, just one year on from winning promotion from Serie B, epitomising the ambition they have established under boss Cesc Fabregas.
But the Denmark Under-21 international could be ready to prove his worth in the Premier League, should either Wolves or Bournemouth win the race for his signature.
As per FotMob, Kristensen won 67.7 per cent of the tackles he attempted in Serie A last season, while also winning 64.2 per cent of his aerial duels, showing that he boasts the physicality required to perform in the English top flight.
Meanwhile, Huijsen’s recent departure from Bournemouth hands the former AGF man a void to fill, whereas Wolves also require more defensive depth as they look to progress under Vitor Pereira.
