Exclusive: Wolves register interest in signing Anis Mehmeti
Wolves have registered their interest in signing Bristol City attacker Anis Mehmeti this month, sources have told Football Insider.
The 25-year-old is firmly on the radar of the Premier League club after thriving in the Championship since his 2023 January move.
Mehmeti’s contract is set to expire in the summer and Wolves see him as someone who can boost their side now and be an asset in the Championship next season if they are relegated.
The Albania international has contributed nine goals and six assists across 30 appearances in all competitions this season.

Wolves face competition for Anis Mehmeti
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Ipswich Town are pursuing Mehmeti, meaning Wolves will face competition if they want to sign the midfielder.
Both clubs seem to be going in opposite directions, with Wolves facing Premier League relegation and Ipswich currently occupying the final automatic promotion place in the Championship.
Wolves’ 0-0 draw with Newcastle last time out in the Premier League has done little to boost their slim survival hopes, with a 14-point gap between them and safety.
The likelihood of dropping down to the second tier means Wolves could begin a rebuild of their squad in January, and Mehmeti’s signing could be with a view to next season.
Bristol City may want to cash in on Mehmeti with his contract expiring at the end of the season, but the Robins are pushing for a play-off spot and potential promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history.

Wolves face January departures
Wolves’ pursuit of Mehmeti could be sped up if manager Rob Edwards loses up to three key players in the January transfer window.
Forwards, Jorgen Strand Larsen, Hwang Hee-chan and Mateus Mane have all been linked with departures from Molineux.
Strand Larsen could leave Wolves for £40million, with Nottingham Forest currently one of the front-runners for the 25-year-old.
Meanwhile, PSV are pursuing a deal for Hwang, and Mane is catching the attention of top clubs amid a breakthrough campaign at Molineux.
Mane has become a bright spark in a bleak season for the club, with Chelsea and Newcastle among those keeping tabs on the 18-year-old.
