Exclusive: Wolves star James Storer could join new English club in January
Wolves goalkeeper James Storer is attracting interest from clubs ahead of January following his impressive form on loan at Greenock Morton, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old has been a standout performer for Scottish Championship club Morton, keeping six clean sheets in 21 appearances in all competitions.
Scottish Premiership and English Football League clubs are keeping close tabs on Storer and could move for the keeper in January.
Storer’s impressive form is also set to win him a call-up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21s squad, after previously being capped at Under-19 level.

Storer has impressed at Morton ahead of potential January loan change
Buxton-born Storer has progressed through Wolves‘ academy since joining from Port Vale in 2018 to impress on loan with Darlaston Town, Chester and now Greenock Morton.
He kept nine clean sheets in 22 games last season for Chester and was part of a side that narrowly missed out on promotion to the National League through the play-offs with a loss in the final to Scunthorpe United.
The 21-year-old has conceded 17 times in 16 league games for Morton so far in 2025-26, with Billy Davies’ side sat seventh in the Scottish second tier.
Another loan move could well be on the horizon in the new year, however, with his Wolves contract set to expire next summer after he signed a one-year extension prior to moving north of the border.
Wolves could also terminate Tommy Doyle’s loan in January
Wolves look bound for relegation from the Premier League already this season, with no wins from any of their first 13 games so far as they remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
Storer could return to Molineux in January to be sent back out on loan immediately, but the same cannot be said for 24-year-old midfielder Tommy Doyle, who has been sent to Birmingham City for this campaign.

Football Insider recently revealed that Rob Edwards is considering recalling Doyle in the new year to bolster his midfield option, as he is a big admirer of his abilities.
Doyle has notched two assists in 20 appearances for Birmingham so far this term, with starts in each of their last eight league outings as their form continues to improve following a tough start to life back in the Championship.
