Exclusive: Wrexham submit Conor Coady bid after Rangers offer
Wrexham have submitted a £2million bid for Leicester City defender Conor Coady, sources have told Football Insider.
The Welsh side are preparing for their first ever campaign in the Championship and are looking to add experience to their defensive ranks.
Leicester are willing to let Coady leave this summer, after they were relegated from the Premier League last season.
The 32-year-old only has 12 months left on his current deal with the Foxes and has also been the subject of strong interest from Rangers, who have offered him terms this summer.
Wrexham move for in-demand defender
Last season, Coady made 19 Premier League starts as well as three appearances from the bench for Leicester, as they finished 18th in the top-flight with just 25 points to their name.
The former England international would have to take a wage cut if he stayed with the Foxes, following their relegation to the Championship.
Wrexham are not the only side that have had interest in the centre-back this summer.
Last month (9 June), Football Insider exclusively revealed that Rangers had enquired to Leicester about Coady.
However, the Glasgow giants haven’t yet made a formal bid for the defender, meaning Wrexham are now leading the race to secure his signature.

‘Wrexham eye move for Leeds striker’
Meanwhile, Wrexham are reportedly planning to make a move for Patrick Bamford as he is set to leave Leeds United in the final month of the transfer window.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that Leeds are prepared to let the 31-year-old leave for a cut-price fee.
Wrexham are showing major ambition in the transfer market following their promotion and view Bamford as somebody who could bring crucial experience to their side.
However, they are not alone in their pursuit, as Football Insider revealed on 21 July that Bamford will quit Leeds and is open to offers both domestically and abroad.
