Exclusive: Wycombe Wanderers in advanced talks to sign Crystal Palace star Imray

Wycombe Wanderers are in advanced talks to sign Crystal Palace defender Danny Imray on loan, sources have told Football Insider.

Imray, 21, is currently on loan at League Two side Bromley and has impressed with Andy Woodman’s side during the first half of their debut campaign in the EFL.

The Eagles are set to recall Imray this month and send him straight out on loan to Wycombe as they want the full-back to test himself at a higher level during the second half of the season.

After joining Crystal Palace from non-league side Chelmsford City in 2021, linking up with their academy side, Imray has yet to make his senior debut for the Premier League club.

He has however, featured 24 times during his loan spell at Bromley this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists in that period.

In doing so he has helped the club to 11th in the League Two table, three points adrift of the play-offs following their promotion from the National League last season.

Danny Imray set for new test away from Crystal Palace

With Imray now set for a move to Wycombe, the 21-year-old will be swapping one promotion battle for another, in the division above.

It has been an excellent campaign so far for the Chairboys, who currently sit top of the League One standings level on points with Birmingham City, who do have a game in hand.

For their part Crystal Palace are showing signs of recovery after a slow start to the campaign, and currently sit 15th in the Premier League table, five points clear of the relegation zone.

Imray signed his first professional contract with the Eagles in the summer of 2023 and will be looking to catch the eye of manager Oliver Glasner during his stint at Wycombe.

He may not be the only Eagles loanee on the move this month, with Ademola Ola-Adebomi also set for a similar switch.
