Expert: Ange Postecoglou trying to ‘engineer’ Christopher Jullien’s Celtic exit after update
Celtic have “no option” but to sell Christopher Jullien this summer.
That’s according to former Rangers and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 29-year-old defender’s future.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed (29 June) thatJullien had been in talks with Schalke over a potential loan move with an option to buy.

However according to Sport 1, via Sport Witness (30 June), the talks broke down “at the last minute” after the player was unable to agree personal terms with the German club.
McLeish insists Postecoglou will continue to engineer a move for Jullien so money is made available to sign a replacement.
“For me, everything is down to the manager and what he has seen from Jullien during his time at the club,” McLeish told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild
“If he does not see a place for him then he has no option but to sell him and get as much money as you can.
“You need money in the coffers or you have it available to spend on somebody else.
“Postecoglou has proven to be quite shrewd up until now and perhaps this is another move he is engineering.
“He has barely given him a chance so he clearly doesn’t have him in his plans for next season.”

Jullien has scored 10 goals and supplied four assists in 62 appearances in all competitions for Celtic.
He joined the club in the summer of 2019 from French side Toulouse.
