Expert can’t believe Dele Alli transfer news from Everton
Noel Whelan has insisted Everton will not receive a transfer fee for Dele Alli if they look to ship him out this summer.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, questioned the 26-year-old’s desire to continue playing football after his dramatic recent decline.
According to The Sun (24 July), Everton are ready to sell Dele Alli this summer – just six months after signing him from Tottenham on a free transfer.

The report claims the Toffees want to cut their losses before Alli makes 20 appearances – meaning they will have to pay Spurs £10million.
Alli’s best return came in the 2016-17 season – when he notched 22 goals and 13 assists in 50 outings for Tottenham.
Whelan suggested the midfielder’s decline in recent years has been “concerning” – and questioned his future in football.
He told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “He’s really not in a great position.
“Everton took a chance on him in the first place. He couldn’t have had a better opportunity to turn things around with Lampard coming in, a midfield dynamo and someone to look up to.
“For some reason or other, it’s really just not working for Dele Alli. I don’t think anyone but him can put their finger on it.
“How has this decline happened so rapidly for a player of his age? It’s concerning.
“Everton took the chance, and it hasn’t worked out. I really doubt that Everton would be able to get any sort of fee for him, especially with the wages he’ll be on.

“You’re almost asking – does he want to play football anymore? When he does play, you have to question it at times.
“Performances generate interest, and he’s not put anything in on the pitch to warrant a transfer fee.”
