Expert: Dele Alli could help Tottenham agree ‘multiple’ Everton deals amid £39.5m claim

Dele Alli could hold the key to Tottenham signing Richarlison from Everton.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Alli, 25, joined the Toffees on 31 January on a two-and-a-half-year deal, initially for nothing, with a final transfer fee to be paid based on appearances and other factors.

For example, as reported by The Daily Mail (31 January) Everton will have to pay Spurs a £10million fee once the midfielder has made 20 appearances for the club.

As per Sky Sports (27 June), Frank Lampard’s side are braced for a Tottenham bid for Richarlison, 25.

Wenham claims the clubs may have to get creative over the potential offer owing to financial fair play and a clause in the Brazilian’s contract.

“Tottenham have money tied up long-term in Dele Alli,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Could that be wiped to bring down the Richarlison fee? There is also the reported clause in Richarlison’s contract that says 10% of anything over £40million is due to Watford.

“So, could there be a deal where Tottenham pay £39.5million and then send Harry Winks there as well?

“It seems like Tottenham and Everton are in multiple talks.”

Alli only started one game for Everton in the 2021-22 Premier League as he continued to struggle for form at Goodison Park.

He made 10 appearances off the bench as the Blues avoided relegation to the Championship.
