Expert digs at Jesse Marsch after what he’s heard from Leeds United contacts
Jesse Marsch should have kept his thoughts about Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United training regime to himself.
That’s according to former Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the manager’s recent comments.
Marsch, 48, told talkSPORT on Tuesday (12 April) that Leeds’ injury woes this season were due to “over-training”.
The Yorkshire giants have been without key players Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper and Patrick Bamford for extended periods this season.
Kenny admits Marsch is right after his Leeds contacts confirmed the players were training too much but he insists these comments should have stayed private.
“I see both sides of it,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He is right, what he said, But those things should stay in-house in my opinion.
“Bielsa is a legend at that club and he’s changed the way the club operates.
“If that next manager wants to come in and change that and do his own things then fine, do it.
“Just focus on you, what’s gone is gone. I have contacts at Leeds, I speak to people and they were training too much, they had no days off.
“Training two or three times a week isn’t going to help anyone. That is the case but Marsch should have kept it to himself.”

Leeds are next in action against Crystal Palace on 25 April.
They remain 16th in the Premier League table.
In other news, Leeds United have set their sights on signing a defender loved by Victor Orta and £27million could seal the deal.
