Expert: Djed Spence set for new role at Tottenham after ‘big’ development
Djed Spence may be set for a bigger role at Tottenham during the second half of the season.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Spence played 75 minutes as Tottenham beat Motherwell 4-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Friday (9 December).

The 22-year-old has made just four appearances for the Lilywhites since his arrival from Middlesbrough in the summer totalling just 28 minutes of playing time.
However, Wenham claims Spence could be given a larger role at the club after starting against Motherwell.
“I want to see if Spence is going to play in these friendlies we have lined up,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I can’t get into the game, unfortunately. I have spoken to everyone and the club aren’t letting anyone in at all.
“That’s a shame but they will have their reasons. I want to see Spence and hopefully see him stake a claim to play a bigger role in the second part of the season.
“Doherty and Emerson Royal have been training with Spence in front of Conte for the last few weeks so Spence doesn’t have a better chance to prove himself.

“I think we will be able to read into the lineup Conte uses in these games.
“Lots of minutes for Spence would suggest he might have a big role to play in the second part of the season.”
