Expert expects Buyako Saka to sign deal ‘soon’ amid Liverpool news
Speculation over Bukayo Saka’s future will only stop if he signs a new deal with Arsenal.
That’s according to former Rangers and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the attacker’s future amid increasing transfer speculation.
According to The Sun (19 July), Man City and Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Saka as he enters the final two years of his contract.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed (15 July) that talks between Arsenal and the midfielder are still “ongoing” this summer – with his future a “priority” for the London giants.
Saka has become one of Arsenal’s most influential players since signing his most recent deal in July 2020
McLeish claims Saka has a “passion” for the Gunners and claims there is only one way for the recent speculation to stop.
“He is still a young lad and I feel, in this stage of his career, he has a passion for the club that he is at,” McLeish told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild
“I can see an extension of that contract coming into play sometime soon. Arsenal obviously want the speculation to stop.
“The only way that will happen is if that gets tied up by the club. That’s the only way speculation will stop.”

Saka scored 12 goals in 43 total appearances for the Gunners during the 2021-22 season.
He also notched seven assists as the Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League.
In other news, Arsenal have been backed to swoop for another Premier League star after an Oleksandr Zinchenko update.
