Expert expects ‘transfers to happen’ at Tottenham amid international development
There will be “a lot of movement” in the hunt for new Tottenham players after the current round of international fixtures.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Tottenham have already bolstered their ranks with the signing of Ivan Perisic, 33, this summer.
Fraser Forster, 34, was also confirmed as a Spurs player on 8 June.
Antonio Conte is looking to strengthen his squad and make it capable of competing in the 2022-23 Champions League.
After a rapid start to the summer, Wenham is expecting more substantial progress to be made following the conclusion of the current round UEFA Nation’s League fixtures.
“With players being away on international duty over the last week it has been harder to make progress on any deals,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Once the international period is over I expect movement and transfers to happen. That is when we will get further clarity on the things like the Bastoni situation.
“I think the way Tottenham have acted this summer, they will move on to other targets if they don’t make progress on whichever deal they are struggling with.
“We will see a lot of movement and get much more clarity when these international games finish.”

This site revealed on 25 May that Spurs have identified Alessandro Bastoni as their first choice left-sided centre-back this summer.
On 2 June, Tottenham fans spotted Bastoni had followed Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso on Instagram after Italy’s game against Argentina on 1 July.
In other news, a Tottenham expert claims Sergio Reguilon could replace an Arsenal star in a £15m deal.
