Expert fumes as Tottenham face losing Pedro Porro to Chelsea after ‘far from ideal’ update
Tottenham should have signed Pedro Porro on 1 January and now face losing him to Chelsea.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Portuguese outlet CM Journal (23 December) claim Tottenham are ‘determined’ to sign the former Manchester City man.

On 6 January, Fabrizio Romano reported Porro is top of Spurs’ wishlist this month with the player “keen on the move”.
Wenham is baffled as to why Spurs have not made their move if the club are so keen on signing him.
“My biggest gripe so far is that for at least three weeks running up to the window, we have been categorically told by journalists who work closely with the club that Pedro Porro is the number one target for this window,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“If that’s the case, if he is the number one target, if Conte is determined to sign him, why wasn’t he ready and signed for the first of January?
“We know about his release clause is, it’s £39.6million. You can say that is a lot of money or whatever but it’s not much more than we paid for Emerson Royal.
“It is not a huge amount of money for your number one target if that is truly what he is. This is a position Antonion Conte has categorically said he wants to strengthen.
“It’s quite frustrating really and there is now talk about Chelsea coming in for him which is far from ideal.”

Tottenham return to league action against Arsenal on 15 January.
They sit fifth in the table as it stands, 11 points behind the Gunners.
