Expert fumes at Tottenham fans after ‘drastic’ stadium development – ‘it’s not on’
John Wenham is furious that some Tottenham fans are regularly booing their side off the pitch after poor results.
Spurs expert Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels, has been left baffled by the fans’ actions.
In recent games, some Tottenham fans have booed their side off the pitch when things aren’t going their way.
This was most notable after Sunday’s (23 October) loss to Newcastle and at half time of Wednesday’s (26 October) draw with Sporting Lisbon.
Wenham is furious that this seems to be becoming a common occurrence.
“This has been picked up by the TV and stuff like that, when there is booing at half time,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I’m sorry, we never, ever, used to boo at half time in the old stadium. It has to be so drastic to boo your team off the pitch.
“Losing 1-0 at home to Sporting in a game where you need to be behind the club, you don’t boo the team. This is every time we aren’t winning now.
“I have been at games where we have been 3-0 up against Man United and we have lost 5-3, we didn’t boo at the end of that.
“It seems to be a different type of supporter coming to the games now. Maybe they have different expectations or the expectations at the club have grown so exponentially that people now expect a win every time we pay at home.

“This constant booing at half time or full time if things don’t go your way, it isn’t really on, for me. It’s not something we used to do.
“It’s not realistic of supporting your club.“
