Expert fumes at what he saw Fulham do v Tottenham – “really strange”

Fulham’s decision to time-waste in the first half of their loss to Tottenham was “absolutely bizarre.”

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Tottenham continued their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a 2-1 win over Fulham on Saturday (3 September).

Fulham slowed the game down at every opportunity and Kenny Tete received a yellow card for time-wasting in the first half.

Wenham was left baffled by the tactics employed by Marco Silva’s side.

“There was a point in the first half, from about 33 minutes onwards where Fulham were time-wasting,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I found that absolutely bizarre. It led to one or two players being booked for them as well, it was very, very strange.

“In the first half of the game and they were doing that, I couldn’t work it out, it made absolutely no sense to me.

“Then they made this whole raft of substitutions including Dan James and Carlos Vinicius, who was with us for a time and he was well below the required standard in the Premier League.

“Then Willian appeared as well which I also found really strange.”
