Expert hails Glazers after unexpected late Man United deal agreed
Erik ten Hag cannot complain about the backing he has received at Man United.
That’s according to former Rangers and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Red Devils’ summer business.
Man United made six senior signings this summer, spending big on Antony, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro.
Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia also arrived to add depth to Ten Hag’s options, as well as the unexpected late loan signing of Martin Dubravka.
Cristiano Ronaldo has also remained at the club despite heavy speculation over his future.
McLeish insists it is impossible to criticise the backing Ten Hag has received from the Glazers.
“He has had great support and that is what you would expect from Manchester United,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.
“You don’t want to be going into that job and hear them saying the club need to be making cuts.
“You don’t want to hear that you need to get the wages down to a certain figure or you hear that you need to sell some of those key players.
“The worst is if you hear you won’t be able to bring in the players you want to bring in. That’s just not possible for a club like Man United.
“They are famous for supporting their managers, they have always done that. Ten Hag can’t complain.”

Man United registered their third win in a row by defeating Leicester City 3-1 on Thursday (1 September).
They are next in action against Arsenal on Sunday (4 September).
