Expert hails Heung-Min Son as ‘mindblowing’ development gives Tottenham ‘big’ boost

Heung-Min Son’s goals have given Tottenham a significant advantage in the race for the top four.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Following his hat-trick against Aston Villa on Saturday (9 April) Son, 30, has now scored more non-penalty goals than any other Premier League player this season.

Tottenham Harry Kane and Son Heung-min

He has 17 goals in the league, second only to Mohamed Salah, who has 20.

As Son’s form improved, so has Tottenham’s goal difference, which could play a vital role in whether the club finish in the top four this season.

Wenham has been blown away by Son’s impact on the team.

“He’s in the form where if he goes in on goal you back him to score every time,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“But it goes both ways. There were recent games against Man United and Middlesbrough where it just wasn’t happening.

“The good thing for Spurs is during this crucial time at the end of the season he is bang in form.

“17 league goals, no penalties in that. He is the man of the moment right now.

“We look so, so dangerous. We are scoring four or five in every game now.

“Just look, a couple of weeks ago our goal difference was minus two, now it’s plus 19 which is mindblowing and it could be big for us.

“Everything is clicking and Son has to take a lot of credit for that, he is unplayable at the moment.”

Tottenham

Tottenham are next in action against Brighton on Saturday (16 April).

They have already beaten the Seagulls twice this season.
